WHO: Isaiah's Place, Inc. Non Profit 501 (c)3.
This is the only facility of its kind in the state of Texas
WHAT: Educational Retreat Facility Focused on Enriching the Lives of the
Deaf Community, their families and friends.
WHEN: Year around - we schedule retreats and workshops
or you and your group schedule and plan your own events
WHERE: Whitney, TX on 40 wooded acres.
Where do we meet? Log House Headquarters
Where do we eat? Outdoor kitchen
Where do we sleep and shower? Bunkhouse
Where do we ride horses? We have a small arena and tack area
(We are seeking funds to build an Equestrian Center)
Where do we learn skills, crafts, & hobbies? Activity Center
Where do we find "deaf friendly" educational materials? Library
WHY: Isaiah's Place is an educational center providing enrichment materials
and activities geared to building communication skills, confidence, self-
esteem, and developing relationships with an appreciation for the
country/ranch lifestyle and its creator.
HOW: With "Cowgirls of Isaiah's Place" - A deaf equestrian drill team
With early childhood retreats for hearing parents and deaf children.
With a mobile educational unit that supplies enrichment materials
to individual families with deaf members throughout Texas
(Seeking funds or donations for the truck and trailer for this)
With "interest" workshops and retreats using ASL as primary language
We are continually seeking funding and donations for operating espences.
